โ ๏ธ Coastal Safety
The bluff edges are steep and often unprotected.
Visitors should:
- Stay on established trails
- Keep back from cliff edges
- Watch children closely
- Expect strong wind
- Avoid slippery or eroding slopes
- Never turn their back on the ocean
Swimming along the exposed Sonoma Coast is dangerous because of cold water, rip currents, heavy surf, and sudden drop-offs.

Pet rules vary by trail and nearby protected areas.
Keep dogs leashed, under control, and away from wildlife and cliff edges. Follow all posted restrictions.
